Coalition on Children and Weight San Diego

The Board of Directors is elected by the Coalition membership in the spring for a term of one year (July 1 - June 30). Anyone who is a participating member of the Coalition for at least one year is eligible to be nominated for a Board position. A participating member is defined as someone who is on the Coalition listserve and has attended at least three coalition-related meetings (such as general Coalition meetings or workgroup meetings).

Katherine Judd

Katie Judd is the Health Promotion Specialist for the County of San Diego’s Health and Human Services Agency in East Region. She received her Masters in Public Administration with a specialization in Organizational Leadership from National University and her BS in Health Education, with a certificate in Gerontology from Chico State.  Current projects include: working with east county school districts on implementation of their wellness policies, working with county and city governments on community design for healthier communities, and leading the dental education subcommittee of the San Diego Dental Society Coalition.

Previously Katie worked in Health Promotion for the County of San Diego’s Aging and Independence Services.  She facilitated a Health Promotion Committee consisting of eighty-five aging networks and health care providers.  She is a certified older adult functional fitness instructor and served as the coordinator for over twenty Feeling Fit Club sites located at Senior Nutrition facilities.  She has experience in conference planning and intergenerational programming.  She assisted with the coordination of four Vital Aging Conferences and helped create the Intergenerational Games.

Tiz Anzelotti

Ms. Anzellotti has extensive experience in the fields of hunger and public policy.  During her nine years at Catholic Charities, Diocese of San Diego, she worked with the agency’s Food Resource Centers.  Beginning as a caseworker and finishing her tenure as the Program Director, Ms. Anzellotti worked directly with clients, managed staff and programs, and oversaw the budgets of three programs totaling over $400,000.  She also acted as the agency’s Social Policy Director, facilitating activities including letter writing campaigns and legislative breakfasts, and presiding over the work of the Social Policy Committee.  Before arriving at Catholic Charities, Ms. Anzellotti worked in the Washington, DC office of US Congresswoman Barbara Kennelly and in the office of Boston Mayor, Thomas Menino.  In both of these positions she conducted legislative research, met with constituents, and provided staff support.

Sandra Parkington

Sandra Parkington, MPH, RN, is the Quality Improvement Coordinator at Sharp Health Plan. She has over 29 years of experience in acute coronary care, occupational health, school health, hospice, cardiac clinical research, cardiac quality data analysis and quality improvement. Sandra is the published author of, “How to Keep Track of Your Salt Intake: Easy as 1 – 2 – 3.”

JuliAnna Arnett

JuliAnna Arnett is the Coordinator for the San Diego County Childhood Obesity Initiative (Initiative). Ms. Arnett works with the Initiative’s Director to implement the strategies and recommendations outlined in the San Diego County Childhood Obesity Action Plan.  Before relocating to San Diego, she served two years as an AmeriCorps Volunteer (domestic Peace Corps).  As an AmeriCorps member she traveled throughout the United States, serving community needs related to environment, education, public safety, unmet needs, homeland security, and disaster relief.  Most recently she held a dual position at Children’s Hunger Alliance (CHA) in Columbus, Ohio supporting the leadership and infrastructure of Ohio Action for Healthy Kids and Healthy & Fit Franklin County.  While at CHA, Ms. Arnett developed physical activity and nutrition education resources for parents with school-age children, the City of Columbus, and 400 student-led chapters of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America.

Naomi Butler

Naomi Butler is a Lead/Domain Champion of the San Diego County Childhood Obesity Initiative’s Schools and After School Domain, previously having been Chair of the Coalition on Children and Weight’s School Workgroup for three years. She also is the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency's Public Health Nutrition Manager.  Ms. Butler has a Bachelor of Science in Foods and Nutrition from SDSU.  She has worked for the North San Diego County Indian Health Council in diabetes prevention and has worked for California Project LEAN (Leaders Encouraging Activity and Nutrition) at the local level for SDSU Foundation for 9 years and at the State level for 2 years.   Her main focus is promotion of healthier environments for youth in schools, after school settings, and the community.
